This CD was recorded with no overdubs in pretty much one or two takes per song at Mark "Bongodude" Capsalors's home in Bristol, CT. Guitarist Judy Simonds does some excellent vocal work, including singing in Portuguese, on "The Girl from Ipanema" and "Gentle Rain". Tom Parker is soloing on electric bass throughout the set, and Woody Floyd makes some great contributions as lead percussionist. In addition to his outstanding work on alto and soprano sax, Bob plays flute on "Favela", "Corcovado" and Tom Parker's composition, "Green Mountain Bossa Nova". Bob says the ensemble really stands out on "Samba de Orfeo", "Manha de Carnaval (Theme from Black Orpheus)" and Chick Corea's "La Fiesta". Recorded in February 2003.
